Baltimore County Public Libraries Adopts Fine-Free Model, Eliminates Outstanding Balances

Baltimore County Public Libraries announced that as of July 1, 2021, they are discontinuing extended loan fees or late fees, and they are eliminating outstanding balances on card holders’ accounts.  BCPL said the change will clear the accounts of 74,841 cardholders out of the 416,427 total cardholders the system has, giving everyone a fresh start free of overdue fines.
